Flickr & Commenting, Gossips, Kopdar

Firstly, Flickr & Commenting in 
A friend told me that she was thinking to quit from flickr.
- “it take too much of my time”
“i hate too much comments..i like yours and few friends hehe.”
“i want to be like those day when i only have few comment. its easy that way.”
“..not easy to comment on every photos..but i hate to not reply back.”
For a sweet person like her, commenting in busy time is a pressure. No wonder to give a reply back to more than 100 commentator everyday is a big job, need more than 2 hours everyday to reply those comments. It is very reasonable things of why she want to quit.
“But those comment and the frequency visit made on your flickr site is a crucial factors for those photographer planned to sell their pictures. the more comment and visit the higher their possibility to sell the picture because their picture will be on top list of search. Let started taking picture for fun but ended up selling those pictures.” ~NC~
Nice Idea… yea why not ?
Most of us post a photo in flickr just because want to share, and take a big hope that they will like and enjoy those photos. Critic is needed sometimes, but too much critic make tired.

Secondly, Some of flickrer are planning to quit cause of gossips.
Why so many gossips around flickr ?
Is it because of flickr id is close with YM ? easy way to sign up to Flickr.com using your YM id.
Honestly, i was bit tired about gossips around Flickr. I want give a damn with those gossips.
Thirdly, Kopdar is the new trend in flickr now. It fun to meet someone we know well in flickr. Kopdar or Kopi Darat (meeting a friend) not only in Indonesia, but i heard in Malaysia and another country make Kopdar session as well.
The questions is what is the intention of Kopdar ?
A friend told me there is a Kopdar session that only showing off their expensive camera, accessories and their technical skill.
Really ? that is a bad things 
For me, Kopdar is fun… beside of we meet someone with same hobby of photography, too many things i can learn from. How to shot, how to manage the lighting, object photo, etc. Sounds great ?

i wish no gossip in flickr, at first i open flickr account just want to learn many things about photo and photography, if possible, have a great friendship, but i never know that flickr would be a palace of gossip…
but i get a few good things from flickr, at least i have some very good friends there…that’s the only thing that i look up to, otherwise i might be gone by now..

This is so perfect…gossip mah buat org yang bernegative thinking aja lah….. kalau di tanggapin kitapun ikutan negative…mendingan biarkan yang bergossip di dunia negativenya aku mau positive…. belajar dan berkarya hehe

@Ave & @ Alexa : kalian dua ini kok focus ke gossip sih, setelah di selidiki dan dipelajari, ternyata gossip memang ada di mana-mana. Sebuah bumbu kehidupan, lah wong negara sendiri ngajarin gimana bergosip, lihat aja banyak sekali ada infotaiment di TV.
Gossip memang berhujung pada pemblokiran kkkk

ber ‘flickring’ ria memang ada sisi positif & negatifnya. Bagaimana kalo positifnya aja kita ambil en negatifnya gak usah kita cetak? (loh?)

Yes, Flickr is meant as a site for photography, sharing pictures, learning from each other and enjoying each other’s pictures. Of course this way we do get to learn other people and meet new friends.
Unfortunately there are persons however who use Flickr only as a means of gossip, bad talk and showing off. They are not really interested in photography but only in themselves and gossip.
So:
1. There are never too many comments, as long as they are positive and encouraging. If you don’t have time to answer, there is no obligation to do it, just a sufficient general “thank you” is OK. People make comments not to get an answer from you but to show their appreciation.
2. Gossip should be banned from Flickr as it has nothing to do with photography. People who do it are the posion in Flickr and should actually be removed by the Flickr administration upon proof. unfortunately Flickr staff seems not to care about this, even if we make a complaint to them about certain people who do so.
3. The so called “kopdar” seems only be another mean of meeting together to gossip and show off. If it is really a way to meet for photography, a good example is “kopdar” in Europe where people go together on photo hunting on an excursion in the nature for example. Not meeting in a fancy restaurant and only gossip and show off who is the richest or has the best equipment.

me with or without comments.. i can still sell my photos.. but i guess all i want is a guinuine comment and sicererity on friendships..

Kalo aku bisa dikategorikan pensiun dari flickr ngga ?
tp sebenernya ada untungnya jg nampangin portofolio kita di flickr, just share…beberapa hari lalu aku dapet email dari executive disebuah majalah anak di US, yang mau make sebuah fotoku yg bertema anak2…cuman sayang, negosiasi yg ngga cocok mengurungkan niatku untuk menjual fotoku itu..yah ada untungnya lah ber-flickr… jadi kalo aku seh mending kopdaran daripada comment2 lagi di flickr, apalagi banyak anak mami yg cengeng dan juga para penjual “mimpi” dan janji bertebaran diflickr huahahahahahhaha tebak sapa tuh???

@ave: Fortunately 95% of Flickr members are nice and with good intentions and join Flickr for the purpose it was made of: photography and sharing fun with pictures. Please do not let the 5% which poison Flickr discourage you to continue it, although I myself for that reason had thoughts myself to stop Flickr, but that is only surrending to those unworthy ones.

There are so many positive things i have been got from flickr than the negative things. The negative things are easy to remove, and welcome for any positive supporting”

Saya malah gak tahu kalau banyak cerita di flickr. Setahuku sih, kita cuma sharing foto dan belajar foto2 dari fotografer yang udah pro etc etc…gitu….

Banyak yg tadinya mengira begitu, tapi kalo gak diselingi gossip ya kok kurang hidup juga ya Flickr wakakak. Aku jadi kaya di flickr krn bisa belajar banyak hal, tentang hidup iya, tentang persoalan iya, tentang photography iya, tentang bgmn menghargai persahabatan juga iya.
